‘Powering The North Sea Transition’ 🌊⚓ – Joint efforts by Denmark, Germany, and the Netherlands was an exciting event yesterday with a very good exchange both in the panel discussion and with the participants on site.
The keynote speech by Dr. Janina Pochhammer from Taylor Wessing, where we were able to be guests thanks to Denmark in Germany – Energy and Environment, NedZero – Branchevereniging voor windenergie, NBSO Hamburg, made the importance of the North Sea Summit clear.
I was very pleased to illustrate the offshore wind industry perspective from a German perspective in a keynote on regulation and the future outlook. Many thanks for the contributions from Brennus from the Netherlands and Oskar Ernst from Green power Denmark. I learned a lot about the Bornholm Energy Island. The discussion round with my two offshore wind colleagues from Denmark and the Netherlands shows that all three EU countries with a strong development potential are facing similar challenges and can support and learn from each other.
The stable project pipeline is at stake for everyone and cooperation within Europe is crucial for the feasibility of offshore wind expansion targets.
Stefan Thimm’s presentation “Security, Finance & Supply Chain – Three pillars for stable expansion and a reliable energy supply” showed that all three pillars must be viable for stability.
The moderation of the interactive dialogue with the panellists of the 2nd block on the ‘How to’ questions “Offshore Wind the Future of Supply & Deman and the necessary framework conditions required” with Jörg Kubitza (Ørsted), Fritz Wiedemann from Van Oord and Johannes Schiel from Vestas as well as Stefan Thimm from BWO and the participants was very productive and showed the importance of the Europe-wide harmonized qualitative criteria of the Net Zero Industry Act. It also became clear in the discussion that the exchange within the entire offshore wind value chain represents a win-win situation for everyone.
Many thanks to Consul General Anette Galskjøt, Royal Danish Consulate General, for her friendly and motivating greetings and to those responsible for the excellent organization: Patricia van der Werf, Julia Pipaluk Byrialsen, Markus Adrian, …
