NRW.Energy4Climate, the state-owned company for energy and climate protection, will be bringing a breath of fresh air to structural change on 6 November 2026: North Sea wind for the Rhineland region. I am very much looking forward to hosting the event in J\u00fclich. As a native of Duisburg and someone who is convinced of the importance of offshore wind energy for the transformation in North Rhine-Westphalia, it is a matter close to my heart to bring the coast and the industrial heartland of North Rhine-Westphalia a little closer together.
\nThe focus will be on connecting offshore wind energy to the North Rhine-Westphalia grid. The expansion of offshore wind power and its connection to the electricity grid open up promising prospects for energy supply in North Rhine-Westphalia.
\nThe availability of green electricity offers great opportunities, particularly for the Rhineland mining region:
\n– For the decarbonisation of industry.
\n– For a climate-friendly municipal energy supply.
\n– For attracting new businesses.<\/p>\n

At Startup Village J\u00fclich, too, the spirit of entrepreneurship takes centre stage on:

\nThe event will focus on current developments and the presentation of specific projects and initiatives from the region. The central question is: what role does an efficient energy infrastructure play in regional development?.<\/p>\n

I am looking forward to gaining professional insights and exchanging views with representatives from Amprion GmbH, Brainergy Park J\u00fclich GmbH, the BWO \u2013 Bundesverband Windenergie Offshore e.V., the Aachen Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK Aachen), the North Rhine-Westphalia Chamber of Industry and Commerce (IHK NRW e.V.), the Ministry of Economic Affairs, Industry, Climate Protection and Energy of the State of North Rhine-Westphalia, NRW. Global Business, RheinNetz GmbH, RWE Power AG, the City of J\u00fclich, Stadtwerke J\u00fclich GmbH, YNCORIS GmbH & Co. KG and Zukunftsagentur Rheinisches Revier GmbH.
