Meeting in Hamburg with potential: On September 10, 2025, around 30 offshore wind players from Germany and Poland met at the residence of the Consul General of the Republic of Poland in Hamburg 🌊⚓.
It was a great pleasure for me to support the Polska Izba Morskiej Energetyki Wiatrowej (PIMEW) or the POLISH OFFSHORE WIND INDUSTRY CHAMBER in organization and with a presentation on the German offshore wind market. Motivated by the idea of opening an important new chapter in the cooperation between Poland and Germany, two leading European nations in the field of offshore wind energy for the Baltic Sea, Jakub Budzyński, Chairman of the Board of PIMEW, contacted me in the run-up to the meeting to bring together key players.
Back in 2022, we signed a joint supply chain declaration “Cooperation for Innovation: Reaching Offshore Wind Expansion Targets Together” at the WindEnergy trade fair in Hamburg with partners from the Netherlands, Belgium, Scotland, Norway, the USA, Poland and Germany, because it was already very clear at that time that we could only achieve the expansion targets together. 🤝
Together with the Consul General of the Republic of Poland in Hamburg, Mr. Paweł Jaworski, as well as the Polish Trade and Investment Agency, PIMEW and Offshore Wind Kommunikation, we were very pleased to welcome innovative, experienced and competent offshore wind companies to the Polish-German meeting of the offshore wind industry.
After a welcome by the Consul General of the Republic of Poland in Hamburg and two presentations on the offshore wind markets in Poland and Germany by the Chairman of the Board of PIMEW and myself, Dr. Nico Nolte, Head of the Marine Order Department at the Federal Maritime and Hydrographic Agency, supported the meeting with a presentation entitled “Spatial aspects of offshore wind energy development in Germany”. Afterwards, Bogusz Pniewski (Technica Nova Baltica) presented his company as an example of good Polish-German cooperation in the supply chain. Exciting discussions and an active exchange were motivated by the panel discussion, moderated by Jakub Budzyński.
On a beautiful, summery fall day, the garden reception at the residence of the Consul General of the Republic of Poland was a complete success. All participants were not only very well fed, but also had the opportunity to exchange ideas in a pleasant atmosphere. At the meeting of the Polish-German offshore wind industry 🌊⚓ in Hamburg, it wasn’t just the weather ☀️ that was at its best. 👏😎 I would like to thank PIMEW, Jakub Budzyński and his team for the wonderful opportunity to support this meeting of offshore wind experts from Poland and Germany 🙏 and, of course, all the participants.
➡️ Cooperation 🤝 in Europe for the expansion of offshore wind energy 💪 is crucial for success. #strongertogether
🙏🙏 My special thanks go to the Consul General of Poland in Hamburg and Jakub Budzyński, who made this meeting possible and turned it into something special with their hospitality.
